Useful Travel Information
These are just a few guides to help you while you are here in Costa Rica. Please remember Costa Rica is one of the safest countries in Latin America, however one should always take caution.
1. Never leave any items unattended, particularly on beaches.
2. Use the safe in your hotel room when available.
3. Do not leave valuables in your car
4. You are required to carry your passport or a copy at all times
5. Check your hotel room before you leave
6. The roads in Costa Rica are generally windy, so for motion sickness maybe take a pill.
7. Dont flash your money
8. Dont flash, you camara, computer or expensive belongings.
9. Tips (10%) and taxes are already included in the resturant bill, you dont need to tip of waiter but if you want to thats entirely up to you.
10. Use sunblock and insect repellent.
11. You should contact your credit card company to inform them of your travels before visiting Costa Rica.
12. Costa Rica is a Spanish speaking country, most people know English, but it would be helpful to learn some words.

14. You will want to carry as little cash as possible. You can pay most things with your credit cards and keep some cash when heading into more rural areas. Make sure to have cash for the exit tax which is approx. $26.
